Welcome to the Veterinary Woman podcast! Daniella Dos Santos has been a familiar face in veterinary medicine, particularly during one of the most turbulent years in recent history. As last year’s president of the BVA, she guided the profession through the challenges of the Coronavirus pandemic with grace, humility, and great skill.
Daniella’s journey into veterinary medicine began with a degree in molecular genetics at King’s College London before qualifying as a vet from the RVC in 2012. Since then, she has worked in first-opinion small animal and exotic animal practice and is now the Senior Vice President of the BVA following her presidential year.
This conversation explores a wide range of topics—widening access to vet school, why it’s okay not to get in on the first attempt, embracing failures, and having the confidence to apply for jobs even when self-doubt creeps in. As always, Daniella speaks with frankness, honesty, and good humour, making this an insightful and inspiring discussion.
