Veterinary Women in Leadership, a collaboration between Veterinary Woman and XLVets, will be holding a Community Masterminds session entitled “Taking back our future” at 3.15pm on Thursday 16th November at London Vet Show.
What will the session be about?
Back in 1992 a model partnership agreement was put forward to the vet profession that included a maternity clause that still to this day negatively impacts women becoming business owners in veterinary practices. The aim of this community mastermind session is to discuss the key features of a partnership/shareholder agreement that is fair, inclusive and future-fit for all to ensure an outdated document is no longer a barrier to ownership as a career option for women.
How does it work?
A Mastermind is a way of learning based on crowd-sourced information and spontaneous participant interaction. The facilitators will introduce the session and define the outcome of the Mastermind. Delegates will have 45-60 minutes to discuss the topic. The session will conclude with a summary of outcomes and an outro by the facilitators. Each session has extended ‘linger time’ after the official session is over for mingling and networking.
If you have something you want to say, advice to give or seek, and want to participate in a supportive environment, this is your opportunity. Not only will you meet like-minded veterinary professionals and discuss a topic important to you but you will be part of creating an important outcome action plan that will be published to encourage awareness and understanding of the community theme.
Attending LVS? We hope to see you there!
The Veterinary Women in Leadership session promises to be an inspiring, hour-long opportunity to learn and share with like-minded colleagues to make a difference in advocating for a fair and inclusive future for women in the veterinary profession.
